The worst thing that can happen to you is your PMP application being audited. However, there is no need to panic as we will navigate through this together. On the PMI dashboard, you will see the status of your application as 'in audit'. Click on the 'audit process' button to access the audit package. This is a randomly selected audit process and requires certain documents such as academic transcripts, professional education certificates (PDUs), and references from colleagues to verify your professional experience.
In the audit package, you will find two documents that need to be completed within 90 days. One document is for your academic education, where you need to upload a PDF of your degree or diploma. The other document is for your professional education, where you need to upload a PDF of the course you took to earn PDUs.
The references section is where you need to provide information about your project management experience and the people who can vouch for it. You will need to input the names, emails, and write a note for each reference. Once completed, you can send reference requests to your colleagues. PMI will send them an email and you can track their responses on the dashboard.
After sending all the required documents and receiving responses from your references, your part is done. PMI will evaluate your application within three to five days and notify you when the random audit is approved. Then, you can select your exam date and become PMP certified.
